Jewish Tour of Athens-With the only one Jewish guide in Greece!
Your guide in Athens is also a renowned cantor (chazan) in Europe. You will hear the history of the unknown Romaniote Jews and
the Jewish presence in Greece which dated back to the 3rd Century BC (the oldest Jewish establishment outside of Israel). The duration of the classical one-day private Jewish tour which usually includes a visit to the archaeological site of Acropolis OR the New Acropolis Museum (depending upon the heat and customer’s will), is 7-7,5 hours (depending on traffic conditions) with a short break for lunch.
The tour includes: (below is suggested itinerary and tailored for each client)
Transportation by private car (up to 4 people) or minivan (4-8 people) or bus for larger groups, including pick-up from Piraeus port and drop-off at the port after the end of the tour (it takes 30-45 minutes to arrive from the port to the city center depending on traffic conditions).
Guided visit to the Jewish sites of Athens (Jewish Museum of Greece, old Jewish district, Etz-Hayyim and Beth-Shalom Synagogues, Holocaust Memorial). You will hear the fascinating history of the Jewish presence in Greece which dates back to the 3rd century BCE (the oldest Jewish establishment outside of Israel!).
Guided visit to the archaeological site of Acropolis OR the New Acropolis Museum. If your have already been to the archaeological site of Acropolis and not interested in visiting the New Acropolis Museum, which by the way is considered to be one of the most interesting museums in Europe, we can have a panoramic city tour by private car where they will have the chance to see the best tourist attractions of Athens.
Guided visit to the beautiful southern suburbs of Athens and the magnificent Vouliagmeni Lake

You will need to budget Entrance fees NOT included in the cost of tour the entrance tickets to the Jewish Museum (6 EUR per person) and the archaeological site of Acropolis (12 EUR per person) OR the New Acropolis Museum (6 EUR per person)
Lunch. We provide either vegetarian lunch in a very nice taverna in Thissio (the oldest district of Athens) which offers splendid views to the sacred rock of Acropolis. Or, kosher lunch in a kosher restaurant.

11:15a.m. – 11:45a.m. Transfer to the old Jewish district
11:45a.m. – 12:45p.m. Guided tour of the old Jewish district, Beth Shalom and Etz-Hayyim Synagogues, and Holocaust Memorial.
12:45p.m. – 01:00p.m. Walk to the restaurant

01:00p.m. – 02:00p.m. Lunch at the restaurant (payment by a single credit-card at restaurant)
02:00p.m. – 02:30p.m. Panoramic city tour (Parliament, Constitution Square, Presidential Palace, Panathenaic Stadium, University of Athens, Academy of the Arts, National Library, etc.).

03:00p.m. Transfer to the archaeological site of Acropolis
