- WWII’s Operation Market Garden – the ambitious Allied airborne assault to seize nine key bridges in the Netherlands, involving elite American divisions – 101st Airborne Division “Screaming Eagles”, and 82nd Airborne Division “All-American” – which aimed to open the route to Germany and bring WWII to an end, but ultimately became a ‘Bridge Too Far’.
